My comic strips original drawings are on exhibition at SI 53, New York's Society of Illustrators Annual Show. They are part of the Sequential/Series and Uncommissioned Exhibit that will be on until Jan 22, 2011. I was not too confident they would be selected because cartooning is quite new for me. However, the Sequential/Series jury was composed of Françoise Mouly and Nicholas Blechman among others and I thought: hey, here's a good opportunity to get my work in front of these persons I admire so much! It was definitely worth the effort!
It looks absolutely awesome! The list of contributor is pretty impressive too: Stuart Kolakovic, Mikkel Sommers, Brecht Vandenbroucke, Luke Best, Rob Hunter, Jon McNaught, Ben Newman, Andrew Rae, Luke Pearson, Jack Teagle, Jon Boam, Jakob Hindrichs, Clayton Junior, Daniel Locke, Isabel Greenberg, Mike Bertino, Nick White, Rui Tenreiro, Sean Hudson, Katia Fouquet, Yeji Yun, Matthew Lyons, Liesbeth De Stercke and yours truly. The sumptuous cover art was done by the very talented Micah Lidberg.
The Globe & Mail was redesigned recently, the print edition is now featuring colour on every page on slightly glossy paper stock. I must say the result is quite impressive. This is an illustration I did for the Facts & Arguments section last week.
Ces deux pastels originaux seront à vendre à l'exposition «L'actualité s'illustre» qui présentera de nombreuses illustrations publiées dans le magazine L'actualité sous la direction de Jocelyne Fournel. À voir absolument !
This is an excerpt from my contribution to 'The Graphic Cosmogony' that will be published by NOBROW later this year. They asked 24 artists and comic creators to each deal with a tale of creation over the course of 7 pages.
I was invited by Maxi Luchini and Mr. Ed (super talented artists from Barcelona) to participate in ILU-STATION 2010. The chosen theme this year is «El Mundial de futbol». The show opens today at the Miscelanea gallery in Barcelona.
